Helpful Tools to Organize Grant Opportunities
Develop a grant review “checklist” with room for notes. Before you spend time writing a grant, develop a good understanding of what a grantor is offering, whether or not you qualify and if your goals align with the funder’s. When you identify a potential grant, fill out your checklist. Determine if you are an eligible applicant and list funder priorities, maximum and minimum allowable request, average award, required cash match ratio, in-kind match allowance, due date and implementation timeline. Identify if there are required attachments, bids, resumes, letters of support and/or city/county resolutions.
