FY25 Co-op Reservations Open Until May 15

There are still opportunities available in the FY25 Co-op. Reservations will be accepted until 4 p.m. on May 15. Openings remain in:

Opportunity: Be Showcased in Travel Guide Content

Want your community showcased in the upcoming 2025 Iowa Travel Guide? We’re looking for locations that fit the following content features:
  • Indoor play areas: arcades, go karts, mini golf, etc.
  • Public art along a bike trail: can be sculptures or murals
  • Farm stays: looking for working farms where visitors can spend the night
  • Insta-worthy murals: what is the must-photograph mural in your community?

Group Shares Iowa with International Travelers at IPW Tradeshow
The Iowa Tourism Office, along with partners from Travel Dubuque, Cedar Rapids Tourism, Catch Des Moines, Discover Ames and Explore Siouxland attended U.S. Travel’s IPW convention in Los Angeles over the last week. The group met with more than 80 international travel planners and nearly 30 journalists.





 Registration Deadline: May Tourism Insider Meeting

Make plans to join industry partners from around the state at the next Tourism Insider Meeting in Sioux City on May 21-22, 2024. Discussion topics will include accessible tourism, historic renovation (with a tour of the Orpheum Theatre) and craft beer, wine and distillery marketing. On Wednesday morning, we’ll explore and volunteer at The Miracle League of Sioux City complex.

Pinterest’s 2024 Summer Travel Report was released last week, which includes data points and opportunities to inform travel content over the coming months. Two trends the Travel Iowa team will be exploring include “quiet life” travel and adventure travel.
Quiet life travel is the quest for a more serene, unplugged lifestyle. Searches for quiet life associated travel terms are on the rise:
  • Glamping aesthetic +260%
  • Travel journal pages +155%
  • Wellness retreat aesthetic +90%
  • Countryside +60%
  • Solo travel +35%
  •  Forest walk +30%
Adventure travel continues to be popular post-pandemic. Searches for related terms are also on the rise here:

  • Hiking trail +94%
  • Train journey +90%
  • Adventure camping +44%
