Major Events & Tourism Program
Funding for Significant Tourism Events
The Major Events & Tourism Program provides funding for events that generate large attendance, significant publicity and have a large economic impact on the state. The program was established with Senate File 660, during the 2025 legislative session. The fund was appropriated $4 million in FY2026.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority is currently developing rules for this program. The program is expected to open for applications in early 2026. Rules, eligibility guidelines and application materials will be posted here when they are available.
