LuAnn Reinders Retires from the Iowa Tourism Office

After 27 years of service, LuAnn Reinders will be retiring from the Iowa Tourism Office on October 28, 2021. We can't thank LuAnn enough for all the work she has done for the industry, and we wish her the best in her retirement.

Please join us as we honor her service on Tuesday, October 26 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (right after Power of Travel) at IEDA’s office at 1963 Bell Avenue, Des Moines.

The Iowa Tourism Office is asking for information on the holiday light displays in your communities to add and or update our current listings here. Please fill out the form and submit your photos as we promote holiday lights this coming winter.

Summer 2022 Image Requests

Why sleep on the floor in a tent when you can sleep on a comfortable bed in a tent! Iowa has a growing number of glamping sites and we want to share them with visitors in our upcoming 2022 summer travel guide. If you know of a location, please email ideas to Jessica O'Riley at jessica.oriley@iowaeda.com and upload photos in the Crowdriff collector link below.

Iowa also has more Instagram-worthy murals than we have photos. Please share your high-resolution photos with us for use in upcoming print and digital promotions.

Fuel Your Road Trip Reaches 1.3+ Billion Impressions

The Fuel Your Road Trip initiative, a part of the current Year of the Road Trip campaign, wrapped up in September. The initiative rewarded travelers with gift cards for using the Build a Trip tool on the Travel Iowa website. More than 4,000 road trips were built and emailed via the tool. Overall, the initiative created 1.3 billion impressions across media, search and social, building awareness of Iowa as a road trip destination.

2022 Spring/Summer Travel Guide Advertising

If you'd like to have an ad placed in the 2022 Iowa Spring/Summer Travel Guide the deadline to purchase ad space is November 16. The Spring/Summer 2022 will be available in early March and includes campground and cabin listings. The Fall/Winter 2022 issue will be available in September.
