Free Marketing Opportunities

The Iowa Tourism Office offers several ways to market our partners' attractions and events at no cost. By using our tools and channels, you can take advantage of our marketing dollars and audience.

1. Share Your Stuff!

We can't help you market it if we don't know about it! Let us know what's new and coming up in your community as it relates to your tourism efforts. Have a new museum, a big anniversary of an attraction, a new event you're kicking off? Let us know by utilizing the marketing below and add us to your email newsletter lists. Or, give us a call and invite us to your community - we love traveling Iowa - it's kind of what we do! Meet our team here.

2. Website Listings

Annually, two million people visit our website, traveliowa.com. You can add museums, retail, galleries, hotels, rental properties, campgrounds, parks and more to the listings database on traveliowa.com at no charge. Listings are searchable in several areas of the website. Eligible listings from our website also populate the printed Iowa Travel Guides.

Download instructions to add your listing and listing eligibility guidelines for the web and travel guides.

You must have an account on traveliowa.com to add your listing.

3. Online Event Calendar

Approximately 25% of the total web traffic to traveliowa.com reviews the online calendar of events section. Adding your event to the calendar means your event could be seen by thousands of Iowa travelers. Plus, we only use events on our calendar in our media outreach and consumer emails.

Download instructions to add your event or add your event here.

4. Community Pages

Each community in Iowa has a landing page with all of the community’s information. CVBs and chamber offices can add photos, video, social links, and more by logging in to their account. To gain access to you community's landing page, contact amy.zeigler@iowaeda.com or call 515.725.3086.

5. #ThisIsIowa

We welcome you to utilize our marketing plan to showcase how your community aligns with one or more of our four pillars in your marketing efforts. With your support, we can take Iowa’s message even farther, extending the invitation for people to experience our state.

Learn more about the marketing plan here.

Please continue to use #ThisIsIowa or tag us in your social posts so we can continue to share your stories across our platforms.
