Streamlined navigation leads users to the best content. Fall/Winter Iowa Travel Guide Now Available

The 140-page Fall/Winter Iowa Travel Guide includes listings for hundreds of authentic and unexpected destinations, cabins and campgrounds. Editorial content features museums and mansions, barns and grain bins converted into lodging properties, 99 hidden gems, winter skiing and ways to celebrate the holidays. The free guide can be ordered online at traveliowa.com, by phone at 800.345.IOWA or picked up at any of Iowa’s 14 Welcome Centers. An online version is also available.

Next Tourism Office Webinar on Thursday, September 15

We encourage you to join us for the bimonthly Iowa Tourism Office Update webinar this Thursday, September 15, at 2 p.m. This is the fifth session in our 2022 webinar series. Topics that will be covered include:

  • Results from a traveler survey taken earlier this year, providing a deeper understanding of travelers across the U.S. and what would increase their consideration of Iowa as a travel destination.
  • TravelIowa.com website and tour.
  • General updates and deadlines from the tourism office.

Second Round of FY23 RSAD Applications Due September 22

Two Regional Sports Authority District (RSAD) designations are available for FY23 due to funds remaining after the initial RSAD cycle. Applications for the second round close Thursday, September 22, 2022, by 4 p.m. CT.

FY23 Iowa Tourism Grant (ITG) Application Closes September 28

The ITG program promotes tourism in Iowa by funding tourism-related marketing initiatives, meetings and events that benefit both local economies and the state's economy.

For the FY23 grant cycle, $300,000 is available and awards will range from $2,500 to $10,000 with a required 25 percent cash match.

The Iowa Tourism Office will accept applications until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28.
